Stuff I think...

I am packing up and heading out to Atlanta to test for my 3rd Degree Senior Black Belt in Taekwondo.

I’ll be posting updates and pics here throughout the weekend.

Today I did an 8+ mile run. It is the farthest I have ever run. I am prepping for a 10 mile race next seeking. I am super sore, but truely psyched about this accomplishment.

I have just completed my first two races of 2009, repeating my first two races of 2008. And while I was able to improve my time in one, and add miles in the other, I am feeling disappointed in my progression.

I know that I got back into running late, and improvements will be slow. But I was really hoping that this season would go much better than last. Right now my main goal is adding miles. I have a 10 miler in two weeks and half marathon in September. So I need to try and get in at least two 8 mile runs this week.

My main challenge seems to be finding time to run. But a full time job, teaching TKD and most especially having a 4 year-old doesn’t leave me much time for training.

Just caught the new episode, this show is really progressing nicely. I think Sam Raimi and Co. have done a great job. They seem a bit obsessed with getting Richard and Kailen into places where they can kiss…. But I guess the action and good stories more than make up for some romance.

Mommy is off on a cabin retreat celebrating her friends 40th birthday. So it is Mark & Daddy weekend!! Starting tomorrow morning we are painting the town red, so if you are around watch out!

I bought a Nerf dart gun, and we be having fun fights all weekend. Mark and Thomas have Taekwondo in the morning, and we will be having pizza for lunch (sadly not Chico’s and Billys).

We will be watching some Clone Wars and playing some Wii too!

It should be a blast. I only wish we had more time.

I got my Canon Powershot SD1100 today. It is very small, and seems to take great pictures. Seems like a great camera, I am very impressed for $150 it is totally worth it.

I have seen two episodes of Dollhouse now. I don’t think it is as good as Firefly, it is pretty enjoyable. I suppose most people were worried the Eliza Dushku wasn’t up to the task, but so far she has done a fine job. The supporting cast is all pretty good, also. I especially like Fran Kranz as Topher the geeky computer pro who is behind all the tech of the Dollhouse. There seems to be lots of cross-over from Battlestar Galactica, too, which can’t hurt.

I suppose it remains to be seen if Fox will give this show enough time to develop. They certanly have let Terminator go on (but I suppose it is in thier interest to keep that going until at least the movie comes out).

All in all I give it a B+.

So ready to be finished with this cold. It’s like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going, and going and going!
